Voter Registration

You can register if you are:
  • A US Citizen (you can vote if you were convicted of a felony if you have complied with all requirements of your probation)
  • 17 years 10 months old (cannot vote until your 18th birthday)
Places to get Voter Registration Cards
  • Any public library (libraries are required by law to have Voter Registration Cards)
  • Most post offices
  • Your county elections administrator (which may be the county tax assessor/collector, county clerk’s office, and/or the voter registrar)
  • The Secretary of State's website
Complete all information on the card and mail. You should receive your voter registration card within six weeks. If you do not receive your card, call your local voter registration office (county tax assessor/collector, county clerk’s office, and/or the voter registrar) and complete and mail another voter registration card.

All registered Travis County voters can vote early on campus.

Information for student voters, including instructions on how to request a ballot by mail, can be found on the Secretary of State's website.
